Andre Manuel Lara Jr.

Our beautiful, kind, and loving Andre Manuel Lara, was born January 18, 2008. His life was taken on the night of May 21, 2024. He passed away just days after getting his driver's permit. Andre, or Dre, as most of his family and friends called him, spent most of his life in Indianapolis, Indiana, although he was born in Lansing, Michigan. Andre is survived by his mothers, Mauriahn Hall and Emily Burris; his younger brothers, Jace Raine, Zion, and Chayce; his sisters, Demiah and Tailyn; his grandparents Tara Barber, Eldon Hall, and Terron Lewis; his uncles Marquise Barber, Terron Lewis, Anthony Reynolds, and Alex; his aunts Mariah Hall, Elaijah, Angie, Vicki, Tiffany, Dashawn, Brenda, Kay, and Precious; his cousins Skylar, Afi, Olivia, Emma and David. Andre grew up in a close-knit family where love and laughter were plentiful. Andre’s unconditional love for his family and friends was so strong that even now, in the darkest of times, they can still feel the warmth of his smile from beyond the stars. Andre was perceptive for his age. He had the kind of soul that felt like he’d been here before— a wisdom beyond his years. He understood people and navigated the world with an often surprising amount of compassion and courage. His imperturbable personality is what attracted others to him. A leader who always chose to follow his own path. He was amazing. Andre was a kid who loved to laugh. He loved cars; driving them, working on them, and sometimes just admiring them. In fact, his favorite movies were the Fast & Furious. In 2014, Andre became a big brother to Jace whom he loved so much. Andre taught his little brother all that he knew about life, exposing him to the music he loved, car culture, and the world as he knew it beyond his small-town city. Andre attended Lawrence Central High School, where he was known for his infectious smile and dedication to improving his life and the lives of those around him. So much so, that after he became part of New Boy, a nonprofit mentoring program for at-risk teens, he ensured that his little brother and his friends joined him. Andre’s ascension from earth may be one of tragedy; however, his memory will forever live in the hearts of his friends and family and all of those who had been fortunate enough to make memories with him, even if only for a second. His family deeply appreciates your love and support during this time of mourning and only ask that you honor Andre by cherishing every moment that you had with him.
