Brenda E Miller

On August 17, 2023, God sent an angel to gently retire Brenda Elaine from her earthly home to begin eternal rest in her heavenly home. She was born on February 2, 1945 to the late Edith Frances Martin and Alvin Jacobs in Muncie, Indiana. Brenda was later raised by Thelma Hite upon the untimely passing of her mother. She was educated in Muncie, Indiana and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1963. Brenda later moved to Indianapolis, IN where she was employed with Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals Inc. in 1973. During her tenure as an account representative, she managed financial data for the company. She later began to be intrigued by the innovation that was taking place in the beauty industry. As a result, she emerged in the sales world as an independent sales consultant at Mary Kay Cosmetics. Brenda quickly ascended the ranks at Mary Kay as a high-performing consultant, enhancing the beauty of her many clients. This success led to her decision to retire from Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals after serving more than 20 years. Brenda's success continued with Mary Kay, earning Grand Achiever status in 1999 and being rewarded with one of Mary Kay’s signature vehicles. That same year she achieved top earnings on the National Court of Sales. Brenda was a faithful member of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church, where she served for more than 40 years. She diligently served her church as Trustees’ Chair, where she managed finances and day to day operations. Additionally, she served on the Usher board, Mothers’ Board, food pantry ministry, and helped to coordinate activities for the youth in Vacation Bible Study. Brenda was known to wear several hats, including that of a beloved Mother, Family Matriarch, Aunt, Sister, Cousin, Friend, Mentor, Missionary, and many more. She was a guiding light to family and friends, often reminding them: “Just do you.” Brenda enjoyed her life to the fullest. She took full advantage of traveling to many countries and across the United States and was no stranger to exploration and adventure. Brenda enjoyed friendly competition, aiming to win, no matter the game or contest. Brenda Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Miller; parents, Edith Frances Martin, Alvin Jacobs, and Thelma Hite; Brothers, Leroy Hite, Howard Jacobs, Ronald Jacobs, and Kenneth Jacobs; Sisters, Carol Ann Starks, and Sharon Williams; and one step-daughter, Carol Ann. She leaves to cherish her special memories: one devoted son, Kevin (Yvette); three stepchildren, Lashone, Treq, Joyce, all of Indianapolis, IN; seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Thomas, Janice (Redge) Sylve, and Sheila (Bobby) King; one brother, Michael Jacobs, all of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers-in law, Charles (Mildred) and Walter Vaughn (Sheron) of Indianapolis, Indiana; A devoted special friend, Dennis Mayes, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and church family.
