Carolyn Nadine Thompson

Sister Carolyn Nadine Thompson was born on March 26, 1955, to the union of Alton and Gladys Thompson. Carolyn accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Plaquemine, Louisiana at St. Mary Baptist Church. She later relocated to Indianapolis and joined Our Home Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Jesse Bingham. Sister Carolyn was an active member of various church outreach ministries, but she was especially happy to be a part of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry. She loved praying for others. Sister Carolyn was a curious and strong-willed child. She always stood up for herself and others when she felt something was not right. This character trait would follow Carolyn throughout her life. It was the reason she chose healthcare as her profession, so that she could help others. Carolyn worked for various Home Health Agencies until she retired earlier this year. However, she was quick to let you know that her most rewarding assignment was taking care of Patrick Orr for 20+ years until his death. Carolyn received an Associates Degrees in Medical Administrative Assistant and Medical Billing and Coding. Sister Carolyn loved her family and always made sure to keep in contact. She never missed a birthday, or an opportunity to let them know that she was in support of them. She was always encouraging and loving others and proved to be a devoted friend and confidante. For this she will be truly missed. On November 28, 2023, Sister Carolyn departed this earthly world and received her wings. Sister Carolyn is survived by her loving and devoted niece Shena (Melvin) Coleman, sisters: Paulette Jarvis and Cynthia Young, brothers: Shelby Thompson and Louis (Veronica) Provo III, best friends Tina Nelson, Cheryl Evans, and Tanya Watkins, as well as a host of other family and friends. Sister Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Alton and Gladys Thompson, her grandmother Sedonia Banks, aunts: Ellen Smith, Leona Washington, and Fannie Watts, uncle: Tom Griffin, brothers: Wayne Thompson, Burnell Banks, Ernest Lee Thompson, and Alton Thompson Jr as well as several other beloved relatives. Sister Carolyn’s legacy will live on through the many lives that she touched. She was a beloved aunt, sister, cousin, and friend who will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
