Charlene Puckett

Charlene Annette Puckett, born on December 13, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away March 27, 2024, in Decatur, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Lonnie Beauchamp and Mildred Durham Tucker. She was a woman of unwavering faith, a cherished member of Green Forrest Community Baptist Church in Decatur, GA, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and prayers. Charlene's passion for helping others led her to a career dedicated to making a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals. She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and later earned a certification in Social Work from IVY Technical College. Charlene's commitment to advocacy and social service was truly exceptional, as she worked at the Near Eastside Multi-Service Center, providing care and support to those in need. She had a passion for beauty and cosmetics that ignited when she purchased her first Mary Kay product. What began as a single facial product blossomed into a whole Pink Room dedicated to her love for beauty and self-care. Charlene's dedication to Mary Kay even led her to achieve the prestigious title of Diamond Star Consultant, a testament to her hard work and commitment. Her love for beauty and glamor inspired her to become a licensed cosmetologist, where she excelled in helping people feel beautiful both inside and out. Charlene's talent and passion for her craft led her to become a respected Platform Artist for Elasta Hair Care. Charlene was married to the late John Puckett, and from their union came three children: Mildred Puckett Turner, Erica Puckett Ellington (Michael), and John Puckett (proceeded in death). She is survived by her sisters Helen Cornelious, Phyllis Taylor (Larry proceeded in Death) Connie Pettis (Chester), Leona Tucker Drake (Carl proceed in Death) , Brothers; Novil Tucker, Ronnie Tucker, Thomas Tucker (Maryanne) and Kevin Tucker. She is also survived by her grandchildren William Whitlow Jr, Ayrika Whitlow, John Puckett III, Trenton Johnson, and Eric Puckett, as well as her great-grandchildren Amiyah Chisolm, Jayce Whitlow, Jaxon Puckett, Braxton Puckett, Kiyomi Johnson, and one more expected in June 2024. Charlene also leaves behind a multitude of beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Charlene was proceeded in death by Brothers: James Johnson, Orvil Tucker, Virgil Tucker and Aaron Tucker.
