Nathaniel W Enoch Sr.

Nathaniel Wayne Enoch, Sr., affectionately known as "Iron Nate" by his family and close loved ones, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, just three days shy of his 64th birthday. Born on May 27, 1960 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Nathaniel was the son of Dorothy and Billy Enoch, Sr. He grew up in a tight-knit family and was known for his strength, protectiveness, and affectionate nature. Nathaniel completed his education at Arsenal Technical High School before joining the United States Army. He proudly served as part of the "Hell On Wheels" tank division at Fort Hood, Texas. Achieving the rank of Specialist E4, Nathaniel was honorably discharged on January 9, 1981. His military service, which spanned from February 9, 1979 to January 9, 1981, inspired his brothers to follow in his footsteps. After his military service, Nathaniel built a successful career as a Drywall Finisher, working with several companies and also on his own. He was known as a jack of all trades, with a reputation as a fighter and protector that earned him respect throughout the city. Despite his tough exterior, Nathaniel was a loving and affectionate man greeting everyone with his signature enthusiastic, "HEYYYYYYYY!!" Nathaniel was a lover of all genres of music and enjoyed watching The Price is Right, Sanford and Son, and martial arts movies. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and found solace in the Bible, particularly in the book of 1 Corinthians. Though not formally affiliated with a church, his faith was a significant part of his life. Nathaniel's love for his family was profound. He adored his children, calling them affectionate names like "Buttercup" and "My Son My Son My Son." His affection extended to his friends who referred to him as "Knock Knock", creating lasting memories with his contagious laugh and playful spirit. He shared a special bond with his nephew "Stinky". Nathaniel would always say, "I want some pig feet, I want some neck bones", savoring his favorite dishes with hot sauce and bbq. This playful exchange became a cherished routine, highlighting the warmth and closeness of their relationship. Though they never married, Nathaniel held a deep and abiding love for Lisa Yvette Moss, whom he often spoke of with great affection. Nathaniel is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Billy Enoch, Sr., his sister Janet Marie Simos (Andrew), and his daughter Janet Rene Enoch. His legacy lives on through his children; Nathaniel Wayne Enoch, Jr., Cornelius Andre' Enoch, Justine Enoch, and Dorothrine A. Enoch, as well as his 15 cherished grandchildren. He is survived by his loving siblings: Anthony Enoch, Billy Enoch Jr. (Michelle), Wesley Enoch (Cherilynn), Raymond Enoch, Bernard Enoch, and Tanya Atkins (John). He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of relatives, extended family and loving friends.
