Ronnie Nelson Tucker Sr.

Ronnie Nelson Tucker, Sr. was born on February 13, 1956 in Indianapolis, Indiana, beloved son of Mildred Oralee Durham-Tucker and Orval Lay Tucker. He was a twin and shared a special lifelong bond with his twin sister, Connie Nellie Tucker-Pettis. He attended the Indianapolis Public School System. After high school, Ronnie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps., proudly serving as a rifleman and he was awarded the Rifleman/Marksman Badge. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, and during his service he also spent time in Okinawa, Japan. Ronnie was honorably discharged from the service in 1976. He was a proud veteran, honored to have served his country. Upon returning home, Ronnie began his career at the VA Medical Center, where he worked faithfully in the Shipping & Receiving department for 33 years, retiring in 2007. It was during this time while at VA that he attended Lincoln Tech, where he studied Automotive Mechanics. Ronnie Tucker was a jack of all trades. He loved working on cars and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Ronnie was an active member of the Eastside Reunion Committee, where he enjoyed giving back to the community by helping host various events & parties throughout the Indianapolis area. Family meant everything to Ronnie and to know him was to love him! He was truly the best father, grandfather, partner, brother, and uncle that anyone could ever ask for. Ronnie was a loving and nurturing brother to his 11 siblings. A devoted dad, he cherished spending time with his kids and adored his grandchildren beyond measure. He found joy in family gatherings and spending quality time with those he loved. He never missed a chance to laugh, joke, or simply be together. He also had a love for motorcycles and cars, especially Cadillacs, which he proudly drove and admired. Ronnie will always be thoughtfully remembered, respected, and loved. His rich-powerful legacy of knowledge, strength, charitable love, and respect for family and mankind will forever remain with us, as his children and grandchildren share these gifts with this world. Another passion of Ronnie's was fishing. He enjoyed fishing trips with his brothers and nephews, and he especially loved the excitement of catching "A Big One." You could find him on any given day watching his favorite Western flicks, watching football, working on houses with his brothers, being a handyman for anyone in need in his family, or fixing a car for someone. Ronnie Tucker Sr. departed this life on December 21, 2025, at the age of 69 leaving a legacy of love, laugher, and selflessness. Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Durham-Tucker & Orval Lay Tucker; his sister, Charlene Puckett; his brothers, Virgil Tucker, James Johnson, Orvil Tucker, and Aaron Tucker. He leaves to cherish his memory, his life partner, Linda Wright; children, Latreece Tucker-Bohannon (Frank), Derrick Berry, Ronnie Tucker Jr., and Brandi Utterback; sisters, Helen Cornelious, Connie Tucker-Pettis (Chester), Leona Tucker-Drake (Karl); brothers, Thomas Tucker (Mary Ann), Kevin Tucker (Gina), Norvil Tucker and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who all loved him dearly.
