Tara Y Reed

Tara Yvette Reed was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on September 7th, 1968 to Doretta Johnson Patterson, and the late Charles Johnson. Tara accepted Christ and was baptized at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, and later went on to become a devoted and longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist church in Indianapolis, Indiana where she served on the Beautification ministry with her whole heart until the time of her departure, because if you knew Tara, you knew she had a love and passion for beauty. Tara attended I.P.S. and went on to pursue a career in cosmetology, and always dreamt of pursing interior design. Worked as a admin assistant at Thomas & Reed accounting firm, but took a different route at the time in business where she was able to utilize her many skills. Tara was a businesswoman where she was CFO of two businesses, TKS Properties, and T&T Collision. To enhance the businesses, she was able to use her skills in accounting and business management. If you were family or a friend, you would have experienced her profound cooking skills as she loved to cook, and host for family and friends. Tara was all about family and always gave a listening “ear” to whomever needed to talk. She never met a stranger, and she was most certainly a giver. When you would speak of love or giving, Tara’s name was in it. Tara adored and was always there for her two precious daughters as well as her nephews and nieces as they were her own. Tara was an amazing mom, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin as well as best friend. Tara will leave to cherish many memories -her loving, and devoted husband of 32 years, Travis Reed, Mother, Doretta Patterson, her two daughters, Shmika S. Jones, and Jaia A. Reed; brother Terone Johnson (Rona), Romeo, Charles, Dominique, the late Michael, and Damon Johnson, and one sister, Charlie Johnson. Tara will also leave to cherish her memories with her brother in laws, Randy, Stephen, Dwayne, and sister-in-law, Deborah Reed, with a host of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and an outpour of amazing close friends.
