Yvette L Boyd

Yvette Lorraine Boyd, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, was born on July 18, 1965, to Carol DeBerry and Joe Hardrick. She peacefully departed this life on April 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and service. Yvette was lovingly raised by Judge DeBerry who embraced her as his own daughter, instilling in her values of faith, discipline, and perseverance that guided her throughout her life. At an early age, Yvette gave her life to Christ under the pastorship of E. James Odom, and she remained grounded in her faith. She attended New Era her home church faithfully until her health no longer permitted regular attendance. Yvette attended Indianapolis Public Schools and was a proud graduate of Broad Ripple High School, where she remained a proud Ripple Rocket alumna. She was aectionately known as “Vet” by those who knew and loved her. Immediately following high school, Yvette enlisted in the United States Army, where she served her country with distinction. Through her dedication, discipline, and commitment, she rose to the esteemed rank of Sta Sergeant. Yvette was a proud servicewoman who served with honor and unwavering pride. Yvette earned a Real Estate Certicate from Ivy Tech Community College, furthering her commitment to personal growth to building a future of opportunity. While serving in the National Guard, Yvette met the love of her life, Deacon Damon E. Boyd, Sr. Their union was blessed with two children, Aireyanna D. Boyd and Damon E. Boyd, Jr., along with a beloved bonus son, Brandon E. Evans. Her family was her pride and joy. Yvette had a vibrant and joyful spirit. She especially loved shopping, which was her favorite pastime, and she found happiness in spending time with those she loved most. She leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband, Deacon Damon E. Boyd, Sr.; her daughter, Aireyanna D. Boyd; her sons, Damon E. Boyd, Jr. and Brandon E. Evans; her uncle James Evans; her aunt Theresa Evans; her siblings, Anthony (Andrea) Hardrick, Vickie (William) Wood Charles (Jackie) DeBerry, and Kevin (Heather) Evans, and Demetrice Hardrick. Siblings who preceded her in death were: Donna, Anthony, Allen Evans and Amy Patton; nephews, Andre Hardrick, Bradley DeBerry, Ian and Amare Patton, Justin and Joshua, Kenneth; nieces, Brittany, Jasmine and Haley Evans, and Nicole Cuejok and Anna DeBerry, Tina, DeShane, Jazmine, Nisha Ballard and her cherished grandchildren, Makai Quinn and Delaney Denise Boyd; and a host of extended family and dear friends. Lifelong friend & fellow Serviceman Glory Harris, Best friend & Sister-in-Love Jackie Cook. Yvette’s life was a testament to faith, service, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered
