ANTAWAN DEWON CARR was born on July 5, 1978, in Greenwood Mississippi to the late Rosie A. Carr and A. C. Hill. ANTAWAN received Christ at an early age at Maple Shady Grove M.B.C in Minter City, MS while residing with his late grandparents Johnny and Gertrude Carr. ANTAWAN graduated from Amanda Elzy High School in 1996 with high honors. He then attended Missis- sippi Valley State University with a full athletic scholarship. He had a love for the game of basketball, and he played the game well. His friends called him “Kemp” (Referring to Sean Kemp). ANTAWAN decided to make Indianapolis his home in 2002 where he met his wife Ella and started working for Astbury Water Technology. ANTAWAN had a huge heart and always greeted you with a smile, a joke, a word of advice, or just a simple hello that would brighten your day. ANTAWAN was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie A. Carr, and his brother, Kendrick L McGahee. ANTAWAN DEWON CARR departed this earthly life on June 26, 2022, at the age of forty-three. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Ella Jones-Carr; 3 daughters, Antranese “Shay” Lemock, Alisha D. Carr, Aaliyah D. Carr; Stepson, Devon D. Jones; Father, A. C. Hill; 4 sisters, Aclesha McGahee, Tiffany “Rena” Carr, Zanita Bibbs, Porsha Carr; 2 brothers, Phillip Bibbs and James Hugher; and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
