Elaine A Roach

February 7, 1945 - February 21, 2022

Anna Elaine Roach, daughter of the late Henry Harold Roach and Hortense B. Roach-Holder, was born February 7, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She attended Indianapolis Public Schools and Crispus Attucks High School. Elaine accepted Christ early in life and was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, and was united in holy matrimony to Edward Chester. Elaine was employed for 10 years at LaRue Carter Hospital as a psychiatric attendant. She then went on to work several years for Goodwill Industries and retired as a receptionist from Tarkington Towers Condos Associates. Elaine was a “free spirit”, she was a friendly person and she met no strangers. Elaine enjoyed talking, cooking, shopping for antiques, going to the movies and loved music of all genres. Elaine was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great- grandmother. Elaine departed this earth the morning of Monday, February 21, 2022 at 77 years of age. Elaine was preceded in death by her son Michael Chester, brother Michael Woods and her children’s father William Crawford and Frenard O’Neal. Elaine had three spiritual lifelong friends, and the family would like to thank Dortheia Anderson, Maureen Fischer and Mildred Scott for always being there for her. Elaine leaves to cherish her memories, Children: Lisa Crawford, Jason O’Neal and Giovanna Roach, Sisters: Gail Holder (Roy), Angela (Chris), Brothers: Harold Roach, four grandchildren, Michael Stewart (Tori), Jordan Stewart (Shannon), Aniya Stewart and Jada O’Neal, two great-grandchildren, Aden and Sasha Stewart, Nephews: Chris J Ciccolo, Nicholas Ciccolo (Byra), Niece: Danielle Kalife (John) and son in law Donald Stewart Jr, Jeff Fleming Jr and a host of cousins and friends that will miss her. Services and visitation will be on Wednesday, March 3, 2022 at Light of The World Christian Church. Visitation from 10-11am with services to follow at 11am. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
