Elizabeth J Carnell

Elizabeth Josephine Carnell (GaGa) was born in Nashville, Tenn. On December 21st, 1947 to Barbee Carnell and Lena Childs Carnell. Elizabeth graduated from Burt High School in Clarksville, Tenn. Elizabeth also was an athlete as she was on the Basketball team from 8th grade to her senior year. From 1967-1969, Elizabeth was in the army as a Clerical Secretary. She then came to Indianapolis, Indiana where she would spend the rest of her life. After attending some years at IU, she worked several jobs bartending, cashier but after working 35 years at Fort Harrison she retired (accounting tech in Vendor pay GS-5). Elizabeth accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. Elizabeth (Josephine) loved spending time with her family and friends. Elizabeth loved talking to her great grandchildren on (Facebook) or Bookface as she called it. Some of Elizabeth hobbies were dancing, traveling, and going to the casino. Elizabeth was still an active union member of AFGE. Elizabeth (Josephine) was the life of any situation, with her jokes and caring spirit. Elizabeth Josephine Carnell departed this world on April 15, 2022 at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Etta Hardin and Netta Carnell and grand- sons, Lionel Louis Carnell and De’lando Carnell. Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Star Carnell, son, Lionel Louis Carnell; sisters Carolyn Johnson, Barbara Wells, Deborah Brailey; brother, Barbee Carnell; grandchildren, Louis A. Nelson, Jr., Liberty A. Carnell, De’Angelo R. Carnell, Lanyyah K. Carnell, great grandchildren, Levi A. Carnell (Coolcat), Lennox A. Carnell (LenLen) Legend A. Carnell (Handsome) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family and friends.
