Mr. George Henry Williams, the son of the late James J. Williams and the late Hattie Will Winston- Williams was born on December 19, 1952, in Indianapolis, In. George attended the Indianapolis Public Schools, graduating from Harry E. Wood High School. George enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged after serving for 4 years. He served in the United States and Germany. He was an Air Cargo Specialist and Military Police. After being honorably discharged, he worked in the building trades. Additionally, He worked in Indianapolis, IN and Evansville, IN, remodeling homes and commercial businesses. George was artistic, industrious, and hardworking. If you wanted something designed and built, George was the go-to person. If you had an idea or picture in your head, he could draw the picture and make your idea and dreams visible. “If you can dream it, then I can build it,” is a phrase that George would say. He was an exceptionally talented carpenter. “The Master Peace Bar and Grill” is a lasting picture of his work, which is located, at 38th and Sherman Dr. Mr. George Henry Williams, Sr. departed this life on Friday, June 10, 2022, at the age of 69 years, 5 months, and 10 days (about 1 and a half weeks). His granddaughter, Maya Elease Williams, his parents James J. Williams and Hattie Will Winston-Williams, his sisters Dorothy Allen, Geraldine Williams, Betty Jo Williams; Brother Edward L. Houston and James Otis, Sr.; brother- in-law, Savannah Winston, grandmother all preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory are his sons George H. Williams, Jr; Gregory Dewayne Williams and Tony Perry; stepdaughter, Cheryl Bush. Sisters, Bernice W. Gude, Thelma W. Brown, Joyce Ann Murphy, and Cynthia W. Hill (Michael), Brothers, J. Richard Williams, Joseph Williams and Dennis L. Williams, Aunt Mary Reid; Sister-in-law, Shirley Houston; Granddaughters, Arianna Williams, Arieanna Trimble, Tanesha Trimble, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
