Howard Van Cleave Jr. (Butch) Left this world on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 surrounded by loved ones after fighting an acute debilitating illness. He was born to Ada and Howard Van Cleave Sr. on December 25, 1949. He was the oldest of 5 children. After Butch graduated from Arsenal Technical High School, he took a job at Allisons (Rolls Royce) While working at Allison's, he studied at Ivy Technical Institute and earned an associates degree in History. He continued working at Allisons until he retired in 2013. He fiercely loved his family and was Superman to his children. He would give the shirt off of his back to any friend in need. He was preceded in death by his wife Alexis Yvonne, His Mother Ada and his Father Howard, his niece Renee Easler, his nephew Steven Van Cleave Jr., his grandson Kadyn Boling and his best friend, Harold Gaddie (who was more like a brother). He is survived by his 3 children William (Paula), Michelle and Michael (Tasha) Van Cleave, 3 sisters: Veronica (Melvin) Woodford , Wanda (Ronnie) Shields, and Sharon (Howard) Young and 1 brother: Steven Curtis (Janine) Van Cleave Sr., 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren along with an array of other family members and close friends and Louise Van Cleave, caregiver..
