Marian Regina Jones

July 17, 1929 - January 10, 2022

Marian Regina Mayo, daughter of the late great Elizabeth Mayo Highbaugh and Charlie Squires, was born on July 17, 1929, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Marian affectionately known as "Regina" received her education in the Indianapolis Public School system, graduated from Crispus Attucks High and went on to attend and graduate college at Indianapolis General hospital school of nursing were she became one of the first four (4) Negro girls to receive her Cap at the Capping Exercises. Regina professed and demonstrated her love for Christ at an early age and later became a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended and severed until God called her home. Marian Regina, married the late great Jacob E. Jones Sr. in (19--) and happily became Marian Regina Jones, together they raised, loved and cared for 7 children. Regina was a loving and dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and individual in general, she had a pleasant sprite, with a big heart, and a smile that would brighten any dark situation. Regina worked and retired as a LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) at Peoples Citizen Health Care Clinic but cared for and unconditionally loved the people all of her life. Marian Regina Jones, departed her earthly life on Monday January 10, 2022 at the blessed age of 92 yrs, 5mos, and 24 days old. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother in law, 3 sisters, 1 sister in law, her husband, 1 son, (Cedric Jones) 3 daughters, (Donna, Marlene, and Charlene Jones) 1 granddaughter, (Dawn Jones) and 2 grandsons (Christopher Hubbard Jr. and Jason Porter) Marian Regina Jones leaves to cherish her memories, her 3 sons; Reginald H. Jones, Jacob E. Jones Jr. (Celeste) and Christopher E. Hubbard, 30 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, sister Joyce Therman, 2 brothers, (Phillip V. and Joseph Squires (Mary) a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends. Marian Regina Jones, 92, passed on January 10, 2022. Services will be on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10-12pm with services to follow at 12pm. Interment will be at New Crown emetery. Please keep the family in your prayers.
