Larry Davie Sr.

LARRY EUGENE DAVIE SR, affectionately known as “Pops” or “Darbo/Darbs” to his family and friends was born on June 23, 1956, in Indianapolis, IN to Alice Davie and Kermit West Sr. Larry departed this life on November 2, 2024. Preceded in death by his father Kermit West Sr and his stepfather Lucian McMillin, grandparents William & Ella Davie. LARRY gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was baptized in 1966 at New Garfield Baptist Church. He often enjoyed attending various places of worship with family and friends. LARRY attended Emmerich Manual High School and graduated in 1974 earning his high school diploma. He also enjoyed playing basketball on the school team. LARRY met Brenda Porter in 1980, and they united in marriage on July 13, 1996. They have endured a relationship that has spanned over forty years together. Larry was very fond of his family and regularly enjoyed the grandchildren coming over to spend the weekends with him. Larry loved family time and barbecues. He liked to celebrate everyone and was known for giving out nick- names. He was even able to give his great-granddaughter her nickname the day before he got his wings. LARRY worked in dry cleaning for over forty years. The last twenty, he worked at Westin Cleaners. Larry was a hard-working man and continued to get up every morning through his illness. His FAITH and resilience were endless, but his fight was strong! If you knew Larry, you knew he loved to joke and make people laugh. He was hilariously witty and would keep you laughing when he really got going. A truly profound man! LARRY leaves to cherish his memories his wife Brenda Davie, two daughters Dwanna Davie (Face) and TaKeela Freeman-Borton (Rise), three sons Larry Davie Jr (Flash), Adrian Davie (Jake) and Deon Porter (Wootz), a bonus daughter Nicole West (Cole) and two bonus sons, Michael West Jr (Fatman), and Justin Borton Sr. Eleven grandchildren Darrial Jones, Justin Borton Jr, DeJuan Davie, Rasheed Boyd, Jocelyn Borton, Ariel Davie, Henry Davie, Adrian Davie, Larrion Davie, Messiah Davie and Alanna Skye Davie, two bonus grandchil- dren Adonis and Lailani West, two great-grandchildren DaMiya and DeAira Jones. Mother Alice McMillin. Six brothers Kermit West Jr, Elder Darol Davie (Anna), Elder Michael West Sr (Gay), Kevin West Sr (Tammy), Mark West and Lucian McMillin, four sisters Melodeon Young, Gardenia Wright, Gwen Wilson (Keith), Michelle West Johnson, a bonus brother and sister Per- cy & Joyce Grant along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones!
