Marilyn D Wiliams

MARILYN DIANE FLEMING WILLIAMS was born in Indianapolis, IN to Thomas L. and Mary R. Fleming on October 21, 1952. Her parents and two brothers, James L. and Melvin E. preceded her in death. MARILYN attended public schools #26 and #69, after which she attended Broad Ripple High School, then went on to Ball State University for 3 years. MARILYN united with the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in 1963, where she served as musician for Sunday School, the Youth Choir, the Young Adult Choir, and later served as musician for the Mass Choir, under the direction of her mother. She also served as the first president of the Junior Women Ministry at Emmanuel and later served as president of the Senior Women Missionary Ministry. She also served as a temporary musician for several churches around the city: Antioch BC, Greater Morning Star BC, Trinity CME, Mt. Moriah BC, Trinity BC, just to name a few. MARILYN was also active in the convention arena, serving in offices at the local, state and national levels. This caused her to travel to several states to attend to her duties. MARILYN began her life of employment at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. She worked there for 25 years, until the company went through several downsizing events, so she decided to leave that madness, and began working for another insurance company. She also worked for Midwest Toxicology, Midtown Mental Health the finally at H&R Block as an administrative assistant to the Trainer of financial advisors. This position caused her to travel at least 2 weeks per month. This position eventually relocated to Kansas City. MARILYN loved being with family and friends, entertaining with jokes or her form of "words of wisdom" She lived life well because she loved life. She truly enjoyed helping people, But, if you stepped out of line with her, she would let you know! Her sense of humor and her presence will be missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love for her sons Brian (Shanell), James "JT", two grandsons, Brian, Jr. and James, Jr., brothers Dewayne (Sharon) and Eric of Atlanta, GA, sister-in-law, Patricia, godson, David "Trae" Johnson III, nieces, nephews, cousins and her Emmanuel Church Family.
