Michael Inman Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael “Mike” Elliott Inman, Sr., who transitioned from this life on February 10, 2026, at the age of 71. Michael was born on March 25, 1954, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Guy Inman, Sr. and Cleopatra Inman. Known affectionately as “Mike” by family, friends, and all who knew him, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his family. Mike attended and graduated from Manual High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. Following his graduation, he entered the workforce. He was a dedicated employee of several organizations, including Jiffy Janitorial Service, the United States Postal Service, Rykoff Sexton, and Zink Distributing Company, from which he retired in July 2020. Mike will be remembered by many as a man whose presence brought laughter and light to every room he entered. He was deeply devoted to his family and close friends and was always willing to extend a helping hand whenever needed. A passionate sports fan, Mike proudly supported his home teams, especially the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, and Indiana Hoosiers. Mike’s kind heart, sense of humor, bright smile, and loyalty are some of his characteristics that will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those who love him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Inman, Sr. and Cleopatra Inman; his brothers, Carl Inman and Guy Inman, Jr.; and his sister, Zelma Loletta Lewis. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Michael Inman, Jr., and his daughter, Denitria McDonald (Donte’ Sr.); his grandsons, Jadyn Hollinghead, Donte’ McDonald, Jr., Davion McDonald, and Adisyn “AD” Burbank; his siblings, James Herbert Inman, Kaye Lane, Edith Rutland (Keith), Mahlon Inman (Tendai), and Hugh Inman (Carolyn); his sister-in-law, Saundra Inman; nieces he raised, Saundra Kaye Inman and Melanie Inman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends. Michael “Mike” Elliott Inman, Sr. has departed from our sight, but never from our hearts. In the words of Mike, remember to “Always do your best and put your best foot forward.”
