Roland Shelton

Mr. Roland Earl Shelton was born August 14, 1963, to the late Lee Roy Shelton Sr. and Clara Belle Jefferson Shelton, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Roland accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at South Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He later rekindled his relationship with Christ. Skates received his primary education in the Indianapolis Public School System. He attended School #22, and Harry E. Wood until its closure in 1978. Transferring to Thomas Carr Howe High School, graduating in 1981. He went on to further his education, doing what he loved best, working on cars. He graduated top of his class from Lincoln Technical Automotive School. Specializing in auto and diesel mechanics. Roland Earl, as he was affectionately called by his parents, was the true definition of the “baby boy”. He did no wrong in his mother's eyes. While following behind his father, learning to fix things, hunt, garden, fish, and most importantly, being a duct tape master. Roland was never far from his parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. He had a servant’s heart. He believed in helping his family, friends, and anyone in need. If you were hungry, he was going to feed you. Your car needed to be fixed, he was your go to, if he felt the weather met his standards. From your furnace, bike repair, household installation, roof, to appliance repair, he would get the job done. Uncle Roland or Uncle Ro Ro, as he was called by his nephew, Michael. Made a promise to his brother, Lee Jr. he would watch after his daughter and grandson. Not only did he fulfill that promise but he exceeded it. Roland is preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Lynn Shelton, brothers, Lee Roy Shelton Jr., and Duncan Aaron Shelton. He leaves to cherish his memory, brothers; Rickey Levi, Rev. Kevin Allen (Donna) Shelton Sr., and Lionell N. (Sharon) Turentine. Partner in Love; Rosie Glenn, Nieces; Lakisha (Michael) Williams, Kendra, Simyah, Gia, and Lena Shelton, Tiffany, Makayla, and Mackenzie Jordan. Nephews; Kevin Shelton Jr., Michael Williams Jr, Taryll Hall Jr, and Kevin Shelton III; Stepsons; Antonio Saffore and Tyrone Humpries; Sister- in-love; Teresa Jordan-Shelton; Aunt, Marjorie Johnson; Uncle, Tommy Shelton; Cousin, Karl Jefferson Sr., His Partners; William Webster, Keith Jordan, Reggie Cosby, Lisa Barnes, Mark Alexander, and the entire south side crew.
