Tyrone Bonner Sr

Tyrone Lavell Bonner Sr. was born on August 11, 1977, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Darrell Perkins and Bernice Bonner-Averitte. Tyrone was educated in the Indianapolis Public School system and attended Arsenal Technical High School. He later received his GED. He also attended C1 Trucking Drivers Academy where he received his CDL license. At an early age, he professed his hope in Christ and was baptized at Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church. Tyrone was employed at IRE as a CDL driver, where his dedication and hard work earned him recognition as Employee of the Quarter. He also worked at Hogans, Carvana, and Western Express as a CDL Driver. Affectionately known as “Roni Rone” and “Scolla” by his family and friends, Tyrone was energetic, outgoing, he had a loving personality and was full of life. He was the life of the party, You could always count on him for a good laugh and a good time. Tyrone loved to travel, he loved shopping, He had a strong sense of style and a personality that could light up any room. Tyrone loved joking with the kids, engaging in high debated conversations , and sharing stories—often more than once. He had a deep love for his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he proudly reminded to call him “Papa,” not grandpa. Tyrone was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His love for his family was unwavering and unconditional. Tyrone cherished his friendships that he had for over 40 years. Tyrone Lavell Bonner Sr. departed this life on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the age of 48. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Perkins; his grandmother, Ruthie Bonner-Smith; his grandfathers, Miles Bonner and John Wesley Perkins; his siblings, Anthony Perkins and Anthony Myers, his uncles, Johnnie Miles Bonner and Gerald Perkins; his nephew Demetrius L Bonner, stepfather Kenneth Williams, the mother of his child Tiffany Hughes, and his dear friend, Metra Roar. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Bernice Bonner-Averitte (Andrew); his children, Devin Bonner, Tyron Bonner (Ausjanique), Keon Bonner, Levi Bonner, Tyrone Lavell Bonner Jr., Emani Anderson-Bonner, and Hendrixx Bonner; his siblings, Darrell Bonner (Libby), Felicia Bonner, and Anthony Bonner; Ladonna Myers, Demetrius Perkins, Da’Metra Perkins, Dewayne Perkins, Darrell PerkinsJr, Ashley Perkins, and Deon Perkins; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other relatives and friends, including Charlton, Aubrey, Victor, Marlon, Randy, Cory, and his significant other Heidi Phillips. Tyrone’s presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
