Veronica L Tyler

Veronica L. Stewart was born August 2nd, 1947 to James and Louiza Stewart of Muncie, Indiana. She graduated from Muncie Southside High School, later attending school for nursing, alongside part time modeling before marrying Kenneth J. Tyler of Richmond, Indiana. In their union, Reesa and Anitra Tyler were born and they all resided in Indianapolis, Indiana. Veronica dedicated over 30 years of her work life to Metropolitan School District of Warren Township, she was the advocate for MSD Warren Township at the Indiana Black Expo, representing the Warren Township booth for over 10 years. After retiring in 2011 from her receptionist position at MSD Warren Township Community Center, she helped cover receptionist shifts and she was the hospitality ambassador for Warren Central football and basketball home games. She worked all kinds of events at Warren Central High School and in 2018, Veronica took brave steps to run for a seat on the MSD Warren Township school board. Veronica strongly believed in supporting her neighborhood and church community. She was the president of her neighborhood association and was very committed to supporting her neighbors and to keeping her neighborhood clean and safe. She was a loving member of Light of the World Christian Church, she served on the usher board, and she volunteered countless hours of community service and was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2002. As a member at New Revelation Christian Church, she was a supportive volunteer for the Church’s community service events, giving back to her community and supporting her church is something that gave her joy. Everything that Veronica was involved in, she was dedicated and committed, always giving 100% to glorify the Lord. Veronica was saved, and she had a strong, loving personal relationship with the Lord. She loved to worship and serve her Lord and Savior, glorifying God, studying God’s word and praising His Holy Name was a very important priority to her, she never let a day go by without giving God praise. Veronica was grateful to God for her family and she loved us deeply, she prayed for us daily and often sent us texts messages with scriptures and spiritual words of encouragement. Veronica’s light is left to shine through her daughters Reesa Tyler of Houston, Texas, Anitra Tyler of Indianapolis, Indiana, two granddaughters Ashley Anderson and Amaya Tyler-Edwards and three great grandchildren, Nathan White Jr., Ashton White, and Ava White. In addition, she leaves one sister, Carol Fields, whom she lovingly cared for. Veronica Tyler was a loving, caring, kind, giving, encouraging, uplifting, dependable and supportive mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend, the loving impact she made on her family, friends and community is deeply imbedded in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
